The Rice Laboratory for Ultracold Physics focuses on the properties of ultracold atoms, molecules, and plasmas, which cuts across many fields of research, including atomic, plasma, and condensed matter physics. The OLE project made Science Magazine's list of "Breakthroughs of the Year", and among the cited papers is the Hulet group's work on spin-imbalanced Fermions in 1D (Y. Liao et al, Nature).
